TESDA AKLAN ON ITS T2MIS ORIENTATION

October 14, 2016 @ the Aklan Catholic College, Kalibo, Aklan. 31 participants from the different Technical Vocational Schools in the province were gathered for the orientation of the TESDA Training Management Information System (T2MIS).

 

“The existing Manual- Based Training Monitoring/Reporting System using the Excel- Based MIS 03-02 template was enhanced into a Web-Based Information System”, said PD Julius during the Provincial Director’s Time.

 

T2MIS will maintain a database of the agency’s training, assessment, certification and employment data that can be accessed using the internet.

Inquiries and clarification were raised by the participants like “When will be its actual implementation...Can they still retrieve and or revised the submitted data...and; Do they still need to submit hard copies of the submitted report or request approved and or noted by the authorized personnel of their institution?

 

With the various issues and concerns discussed and channelled during the orientation, the activity ended with new challenges yet motivating and improved efficiency of the agency’s administrative machinery and delivery of services to its various clients.

TURN- OVER ACTIVITY OF PD JULIUS SOL O. JAMERO

August 28, 2017 @ Kalibo, Aklan. All staff of the TESDA Aklan Provincial Office gathered for the Turn- Over Activity of the outgoing Provincial Director, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero.

​

As per TESDA Order No. 260 s. of 2017 issued on July 31, 2017 by Sec. Guiling Mamondiong to effect the TESDA Provincial Leadership Map, Dr. Jamero will be assigned to take charge of the TESDA Negros Occidental Provincial Office while Mr. Joel M. Villagracia will also be assigned to TESDA Aklan Provincal Office.

​

The activity started with the Welcome Message from the Supervising TESD Specia list, Mr. Renato J. Babalo followed by the Words of appreciation and encouragement from Dr. Jamero emphasizing the support and dedication of all the staff.

​

Ms. Josefa L. Aranador, Administrative Officer V together with Mr. Babalo and Mr. Mark Anthony Dolinog, Financial Analyst expressed their gratitude during Acceptance of Responsibilities for the endless support of the outgoing PD.

​

The rest of the staff had the chance to express also their thoughts through short messages.

​

Dr. Jamero ended the activity with a reminder to give support and maintain the dedication with the incoming PD- Joel M. Villagracia.

IPs’ GRADUATION ON TRAINING CUM PRODUCTION

April 28, 2017. A total of 35 graduates which include 34 IPs (Akeanon- Bukidnon Tribe) from Libacao, Aklan gathered at the Mayor Sol R. Legaspi Memorial Cultural Center in Poblacion, Libacao, Aklan for the conduct of Graduation and Closing Ceremony of the Training Cum Production which aimed to strategically address the vulnerability of displacement and/ or disengagement of construction workers due to limited range of competencies or skills mismatch.

​

There were 17 graduates in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, 11 in Carpentry NC II and Basic Masonry with 7 ones.

​

“When you dream, you need to work for it in order for that dream to come true”, Hon. Charito I. Navarosa, Municipal Mayor of Libacao said during his message, emphasizing that poverty is not a hindrance for greater opportunities and expressing gratitude to TESDA Aklan.

​

The said graduates were trained for 35 days. Aside from the free training, they have been also assessed for free. Moreover, they were given the choice to utilize the PTC Dormitory during the training. They also availed weekly training allowance of 270.00 per day.  

​

During his message, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero, Provincial Director of TESDA Aklan encouraged the IPs to continue improving their lives through training and employment.

​

3 of the IPs delivered their impressions and expressed thanks to the trainers, PTC Admiistrator, Mr. Rick Abraham and the rest of the management who facilitated the said undertaking. The graduates were given with the Training Certificate.

​

Mr. Mark Anthony Dolinog, Training Cum Production Focal and an IP of Akeanon- Bukidnon Tribe ended the activity with a closing message and said, “Do not be stuck to where you are now. You have now the skills, so make use of it. Spread your wings and inspire also our fellow IPs.”

DORMITORY FOR TESDA TRAINEES

April 14, 2016 at the TESDA Aklan Provincial Training Center, Laguinbanua East, Numancia, Aklan. The Provincial Government represented by Gov. Florencio T.  Miraflores and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority- Aklan Provincial Office with the Provincial Training Center headed by PD Julius Sol O. Jamero spearheaded the conduct of the Turnover of the Dormitory.

​

The Dormitory was constructed for the purpose of providing free housing accommodation for the trainees of the Provincial Training  

Center, giving priorities to those who live in far- flung areas of Aklan where accessibility and transportation poses a problem during training. It is a two- storey building with 4 rooms and complete facilities that can cater 30 trainees.

​

Provincial Training Center with its Administrator, Mr. Rick Abraham will assume the responsibility to manage the dormitory.

 

“This is a great help to the people of Aklan since transportation is one of the main reasons of

 

drop outs and absences of the trainees”, said PD Julius during his closing message.

 

“The TESDA management is positive that through this endeavour, Aklanons will be more motivated to gain more skills in Construction Sector since Provincial Training Center is accredited to offer Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I and II, Carpentry NC II, Automotive Servicing NC I and II and Domesticated Refrigeration and Airconditioning (DomRac) Servicing NC II”, he added. 

​

 

With the support of the Provincial Directors of other provinces, RD Toni June A. Tamayo, TESDA VI Regional Director and with the presence of the TESDA Deputy Director General, Atty. Teodoro C. Pascua, the activity ended with so much gratitude from the trainees of the Center.

INMATES WITH DRUG RELATED CASES AVAIL TESDA TRAINING PROGRAMS

“You really have to think what is best for you ‘coz it is not the end of your life”, said Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero during his visit to the 30 inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Nalook, Kalibo, Aklan who are taking up Dressmaking NC II under Bottom- Up Budgeting (BUB) Program with the Montfort Technical Institute, Inc. as the training provider.

 

The said recipients compose of inmates that committed drug- related cases.

 “We are here to help you”, PD Julius added expressing his encouragement to the participants to finish the training and to create an association related to dressmaking and tie up with the industries after the 33-day skills training that started last March 27, 2017.

 

Montfort Technical Institute, Inc. represented by its College Superintendent, Bro. John Britto provided the supplies and materials including sewing machines, cloth and other necessary supplies.  Bro. John commended the program for recognizing the inmates by bringing the TESDA services in BJMP- Aklan.

With the collaboration among the Alternative Learning System (ALS), Kalibo, Aklan, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)- Aklan Provincial Office, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Kalibo, Aklan, the said program will definitely provide positive outcome to the participants of the undertaking.

The activity ended with gratitude from JO2 Redeemer Von U. Martinez, Inmates Welfare and Development Officer as PD Julius’ announced that 23 accredited technical vocational institutions will also donate sewing machines to the recipients of the skills training program.

TRAINING- CUM- PRODUCTION BENEFITS IPs IN AKLAN

Two million pesos was allotted to TESDA Aklan Provincial Training Center for the implementation of the Training-Cum-Production Scheme Project that would greatly benefit Indigenous People (Akeanon- Bukidnon Tribe) of Libacao, Aklan.

 

March 01, 2017 at the Provincial Training Center, Laguinbanua East, Numancia, Akan. Thirty- five (35) IPs (33 males and 2 females) coming from Libacao, Aklan were invited for the Training Induction Program. They will be trained for thirty- five days in Basic Masonry, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and Carpentry NC II.

 

“I- de- develop po kayo dito. I- le- level- up pa ang skills ninyo”, said PD Julius during his message. “This skills training will provide you the necessary skills, appropriate attitude and work values for your employment”, he added.

 

Aside from the training cost and assessment fee , PD Juls announced that the trainees can avail free room accommodation in the PTC Dormitory. Additionally, they will be receiving a weekly allowance of 270.00 per day.

 

“After the training, we are expected to have the expansion of training workshops and the construction of PTC Aklan Canteen”, added by the PTC Administrator, Mr. Rick Abraham.

 

According to the Terms of Reference, the general objective of this undertaking is to strategically address to the vulnerability of displacement and/ or disengagement of construction workers due to limited range of competencies or skills mismatch. This will also provide them the window opportunity to become a multi- skilled workers, enhanced their employability either on wage employment or self- employment in the booming construction industry.

AKEANON   BUKIDNON   IPs  ATTEND    TIP   ON   TRAINING   CUM

March 01, 2017 @ the Provincial Training Center, Laguinbanua East, Numancia, Aklan. Thirty- five trainees with 34 Indigenous People from Libacao, Aklan gathered for the conduct of the Training Induction Program on the TESDA’s Training Cum Production.

​

The said project addresses the vulnerability of displacement and/or disengagement of construction workers due to limited range of competencies or skills mismatch. This will also provide the recipients window opportunity to become a multi- skilled worker, enhance their employability either on wage employment or self- employment in the booming construction industry.

​

Specifically, the expected output of the project is the expansion of training workshops and the construction of PTC Aklan Canteen. It has an allocated budget of 2 million pesos that will benefit the IPs through skills training towards their success.

​

There are 7 male trainees on Basic Masonry, 17 trainees that consist of 15 males and 2 females on Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II and 11 male trainees on Carpentry NC II. They will be trained from March 01, 2017 and expected to finish on April 10, 2017.

​

“This will be a very good help to all of you as recipients of this undertaking. This will provide better opportunities to uplift your socio- economic status and will give you knowledge and or improve your skills in your chosen qualification program”, said PD Julius while encouraging the recipients to avail other programs after taking the Training Cum.

The beneficiaries of the project will be provided with the training allowance of 270.00 per day and are free to occupy rooms at the PTC Dormitory within the training duration.

The Training Induction Program ended with so much gratitude from the recipients of the program.

TESDA- AKLAN JOINS ATI- ATIHAN FESTIVAL

The Ati-Atihan Festival is a feast held annually in January in honor of the Santo Niño (Infant Jesus), concluding on the third Sunday, in the island and town of Kalibo, Aklan. The name "Ati-Atihan" means "to be like Atis" or "make believe Ati's". Itas were the primary settlers in the islands according to history books. They too are the earliest settlers of Panay Island where the province of Aklan is situated.

​

And as a way of celebrating the said occasion, January 14, 2016 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon,  Members of Association of TVET Schools in Aklan (ATSA), trainees, Provincial Training Center and the Provincial Office with the Provincial Director, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero, the said activity became memorable.

​

With the beat of the drums, lyres and other musical instruments, participants of the said activity enjoyed while dancing in the street. From the TESDA Provincial Office going to the Kalibo Cathedral turning to some other streets, the team was unstoppable in taking photos and videos as a token of the said activity during the “Sadsad”.

​

Unity, cooperation and socialization were developed.

​

Thus, it is not just skills that are being developed by TESDA. Through different activities, advocacies and programs, the management also enhance other aspects of an individual for his/ her better future.

TESDA AKLAN JOINS NEGOSYO ENCOUNTER

November 29, 2016. Different agencies from the provincial government gathered at the Numancia Covered Court, Poblacion, Numancia, Aklan for the conduct of the Negosyo Encounter.
 
Negosyo Encounter is collaboration among the different government agencies spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry. With the DILG, DTI, PCCI, DENR, DOLE, PGO, BIR, PIA, BPLO that spoke regarding Business Enabling; Access to Market which was assisted by the DTI, PhilExport, Hugod, Aklan Food PDC, OPA, PhilFIDA, DAR, Aklan PinaMantra; Access to Finance which was discussed by LBP, DBP, SB Corp., Bank of Makati; and Productivity and Efficiency which was assisted by the representatives from ASU, DAR, DOST, DTI and TESDA, services were delivered to the entrepreneurs of the said municipality.

​

Negosyo Encounter is an advocacy which caters inquiries from the small- medium entrepreneurs in the province. All agencies offered their possible assistance, and TESDA as the leading partner in technical education and skills development with Eng’r Vladimir A. Espinosa, Sr. TESD Specialist of Aklan Provincial Office presented the possible contributions of the latter. He discussed the Barangay Kasanayan Para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan (BKKK)- the new flagship of the agency that gives scholarship grants on its different skills training programs that may be used for employment purposes of the beneficiaries or even for business purposes.

The activity was done through One-on-One/ Group Consultation on the Programs and Services for MSMEs.

 

With the support of the different concerned agencies, Negosyo Encounter will always be successful as it  could be.

TESDA AKLAN SUPPORTS ANTI- ILLEGAL DRUG CAMPAIGN

In consonance with the strong pronouncement of President Rogrigo Duterte to immediately address the country’s drug problem at the community level, an urgency to strengthen the strategies concerning the present national drug situation lead to the conduct of an Anti- Illegal Drug Summit.
November 28, 2016 at the ABL Sports Complex, Kalibo, Aklan. Different government agencies represented by its respective heads and representatives like the Philippine National Police that spearheaded the activity, Department of Justice, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Interior and Local Governmnent, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, League of the Municipalities of the Philippines, Philipine Councilors League- Aklan Provincial Chapter and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority- Aklan Provincial Office presented their possible programs and advocacies that could be a positive assistance to the Barangay Captains and  or representatives of the different Barangays and various student leaders coming from the different schools as the participants of the activity.
TESDA Aklan Provincial Office represented by its Sr. TESD Specialist, Eng’r Vladimir A. Espinosa presented the new flagship of the agency which is the Barangay Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan (BKKK) - A new project of TESDA which aims to give equal opportunity to those who have little access to skills training which offers scholarship grants for skills training. Moreover, he added that even drug dependents and or rehabilitated ones may avail the program.
​

According to Eng’r Espinosa, the said program has three modes of availment. These are through Online Application, Walk- In, and the through Survey.

“Anybody who is willing to undergo training will not be rejected”, said Espinosa as he ended his presentation.

The activity ended with full commitment and dedication of the participants to support the Anti- Illegal Drug Campaign.

ORIENTATION ON THE TENDERING SYSTEM FOR SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS FOR TWSP

November 23, 2016 at the NVC Carmen Hotel, Kalibo, Aklan. 32 individuals from the different Technical Vocational Institutes in the province of Aklan gathered for the Orientation on the Tendering System for Scholarship Grants for Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP).

​

As the Vice Chair of the Regional Scholarship Evaluation Committee (RSEC), the activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Director, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero.

​

​

“The Tendering System is a process of selecting training providers for the scholarship availment”, said PD Julius.

​

The criterias for the evaluation of Tender are the Absorptive Capacity which covers the physical facilitites, tools and equipments and number of trainers, Employment Rate in a particular qualification previously granted and being applied for, and the Utilization Rate which refers to the enrollment report against the approved slots of the scholarship previously granted.

​

According to Dr. Jamero, the eligible training providers shall be ranked from lowest to highest based on the point sytem.

​

Scholarship grants will be awarded to qualified TVIs/TTIs and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) shall be entered into between TESDA and the concerned TVI defining the terms and conditions of the award.

​

There are three (3) modes of scholarship availment. First, Barangay Listing of prospective Scholars. Second is the Online Scholarship Application and last, Walk- In Application.

​

The scholars will be entitled to free training and assessment. Moreover, Dr. Jamero added that any grantee may avail multiple scholarship programs but not simultaneously.

​

The TVIs were also reminded that regular and timely submission of accurate and consistent data shall be strictly followed and shall be submitted on every 3rd day of the following month.

​

Dr. Jamero ended his words with, “In TESDA’s skills training scholarship program, no one will be rejected”.

DG Mamondiong Launches Barangay Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan

October 19, 2016. TESDAns from Region VI that includes the Provincial Directors, TVI Administrators/Representatives, Provincial Community Training and Employment Coordinator (CTEC) Officers, Presidents of Liga ng mga Barangay and League of Municipalities from the different provinces gathered at the Iloilo City Diamond Jubilee Hall, Mabini Street, Iloilo City to witness the Regional Launching of the Barangay Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan and Inter- Agency Commitment Signing- a flagship program of TESDA which aims to bring skills training in rural areas that will lead to poverty reduction.

​

​

The activity was highlighted with the presence of the TESDA Director General/ Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong as the Guest of Honor. According to the Secretary, there were 32,000 of scholarship slots allocated for Region VI.

Questions and queries regarding the implementation of the Barangay Kasanayan para sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan were raised by the participants in the Open Forum which was addressed to RD Toni June Tamayo, DDG Alvin S. Feliciano together with Sec. Gene Mamondiong.

​

A ceremonial turn- over of Key from Allied Land, Inc. (ALI) to Leon Ganzon Polytechnical College (LGPC) was also held along with the program.

Community Training and Employment Coordinators from the different provinces in the Region were also recognized in the activity. An oath taking was facilitated with the Sec. Mamondiong.

​

Other concerned agencies like the Philippine National Police, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Department of Interior and Local Government along with the Presidents of the League of the Municipalities and Liga ng mga Barangay pledge to commit for the full support in the implementation of such TESDA program by signing the pledge of commitment.

There were approximately more than six hundred (600) participants who attended the said activity. 

TESDA AKLAN IS ON ITS HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

In order to develop a healthy and alert workforce, the Civil Service Commission as the personnel agency of the government issued Memorandum Circulars regarding the Physical and Mental Fitness Program for Government personnel and requiring all agencies to adopt “The Great Filipino Workout” as an integral part of the National Physical Fitness and Sports Development Program.

September 21, 2016 @ 4 o’clock in the afternoon.  TESDA Aklan Provincial Office and Provincial Training Center Personnel gathered at the Amigo Badminton Court, Kalibo, Aklan for the conduct of the scheduled Badminton and Table Tennis Competition among the personnel.

​

The said Physical Fitnesss Program is designed to inculcate the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regimen of regular physical fitness activities as a strategy to reduce the level of risk factor of heart deseases.

With the support and guidance of the Provincial Director, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero, there will be one  (1) hour per week for the conduct of health awareness program and twenty  (20) minutes daily for the conduct of wellness or fitness program.

Mr. Templo Participates to Tagsanay Awards 2015

Recognizing an individual is one way of showing motivation.

​​

Tagsanay Award recognizes outstanding and exemplary performance of TVET trainers from both public and private TVET providers.  

As this is envisioned to be an annual institutional award, it is encouraged that we are able to select the best of the trainers in our different levels of jurisdiction.

​

All Provinces has given their nominees for this prestigious award. Aklan has submitted names and so as the requirements.

 

A very thick compilation of proof of accomplishments amazed TESDA- Aklan when Mr. Ernesto Templo handed it to the office. It was his documentation of his achievements.

 

“Surprised”. The only word that he uttered when asked of his feeling. “I was not expecting to be chosen as Aklan’s representative for this Tagsanay Award 2015”, Mr. Templo added.

 

Written exams and interviews were conducted. Various aspects of a trainer were measured and challenged. Skills, agility and reasoning ability were also tested. “Natuto rin akong makisama sa ibat- ibang tao”.

 

The said activity was conducted on December 14- 17, 2015 at Marikina City. It was a four- day event participated with different provinces in Region VI.

 

It could be a good idea if TESDA- Aklan would also be able to conduct a sort of “mini- Olympics” for the trainers in order for them to show their incomparable skills and be recognized. One more thing is that it might be a preparation stage for the next succeeding Tagsanay Awards”, Mr. Templo suggested.

 

“Thank you, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero and RD Toni June Tamayo for believing in me”, Mr. Templo said  to express his gratitude.

Saint Gabriel College, Inc. and Verde Grande College, Inc. – Outstanding Aklanon Entrepreneurs

March 25, 2016. Aklan province celebrated its 60th Anniversary with the theme, “Aklan: The Booming Economy at 60”.

​

As part of the celebration, Outstanding  Aklanon Entrepreneurs were given recognition for providing earnings and better benefits as the province grow and as drivers of development.

​

The 2016 Search for Outstanding  Aklanon Entrepreneurs is geared towards the realization of Aklan’s booming economy. These entrepreneurs were believed and noted to have excelled in their  sectoral areas leading to the transformation of the provincial socio- economic advancement like sectors of Food Processing, Tourism, Restaurants, Health Care,Education, Retail, Agri Business, and Fibercrafts.

​

Randall Anselmo Legaspi, President of Saint Gabriel College, Inc. and Mr. Braulio S. Tolentino, President of Verde Grande College, Inc. are two of the registered Technical Vocational Institutes (TVIs)  under Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and were awarded as two of the 14 Outstanding Aklanon entrepreneurs for education sector.

​

For Food Processing, awardees were Lucia T. Gobres, Owner of Jocyl’s Food Products and Roselita C. Sauza, Manager/Owner of Rosa Foods, Inc.; for Tourism – Editha M. Sazon, Owner, Marzon Hotel; Godofredo B. Sadiasa, Chairman of the Board, Caticlan Boracay Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Transport Service); and Cedric M. Sazon, President, Southwest Tours (Boracay) Inc.

​

Myla S. Torralba, Owner of Mauro’s Latte Coffee Café was the lone awardee for the Restaurant Sector.

​

Awardees in Health Care Sector, meanwhile, were Dr. Oscar J. Hilario, Chairman, Board of Directors, MMG Aklan Specialty Clinics; and Aklan Cooperative  Mission Hospital represented by Dr. Arthur Salido, Chairman, Board of Directors.

​

Other awardees included Jose Mari Q. Aldecoa, Manager, Village Manifold Traders Inc.; Norberto L. Buyoc, Owner, Buyoc Fishfarms; Yolly C. Iman, Chairman, Board of Directors, Handicraft Aklan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Allan M. Tumbokon, Manager/Owner, La Hermina Pina Weaving Industry.

 

“Embrace the challenges life throws at you. Never fear failure and learn calculated risks. Start building wealth while still young, said Mr. Legaspi said as an advice to the young entrepreneurs.

“Have courage to venture and face calculated risk head on. Have the perseverance and flexibility to changes. Provide good service that is relevant and needed by the community. Be willing and able to work for the good of the company”, added Mr. Tolentino.

TESDA AKLAN JOINS EARTH HOUR

Every action counts”, said Dr. Jamero during his message in the conduct of the Earth hour with the theme, “Change Climate Change- Our Future Starts Today” dated March 19, 2016  at the Magsaysay Park, Kalibo, Aklan, stressing the importance of human’s responsibility to the environment.

The activity was spearheaded by the Association of TVET  Schools in Aklan (ATSA) with its President, Ms. Lenore Medina with the collaboration with the local government unit of Kalibo, the MDRRMO and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)- Aklan.

With an objective to enlighten people’s responsibility in environmental issues and educate participants to the Do’s and Dont’s in times of unfortunate instances, it was conducted for one whole day which focused  to different drills like Water Rescue Drill at Sampaguita Gardens, New Washington, Aklan, Fire Drill, Basic Life Support Drill, High- Angle Rope Recue Drill, CPR Drill, and the Earth Hour at Magsaysay Park, Kalibo, Aklan that highlighted the activity which was participated by TESDA Provincial Office Staff and other concerned members of the community.

The activity ended with the positive impact to the participants to commit change climate change.

Free Services from TESDA- Aklan

Bringing government services into the heart of every barangay is an advocacy of the provincial government of Aklan through the Gobyerno sa Baryo Program.

​

As a leading partner in developing technical and skills education with the registered technical vocational institutions which offers various short term courses, TESDA- Aklan  has an active participation on the said provincial government’s activity through answering inquiries regarding TESDA scholarship programs and free services like free massage.

​

​March 12, 2016. TESDA Provincial Office with Villorente Training and Assessment Center offered free back massage to the residents of Pook, Kalibo, Aklan. The activity was conducted at Pook Elementary School which started at 8: 00 o’ clock in the morning. Almost forty women were catered by the trainees from Villorente Training and Assessment Center.

Together with the cooperation of the registered TVI’s in Aklan, TESDA’s services will not just serve residents from different barangays but will also hone every trainee to be more competent in their future career.

Participants on the said Gobyerno Sa Baryo Program will be given certificates of recognition by the TESDA Provincial Office with the Provincial Director, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero.

TOWARDS QUALITY COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION (CAC)

February 29, 2016. TESDA Aklan conducted a one- day orientation on Competency Assessment and Certification (CAC) at Verde Grande College, Inc.

A total of forty- four (44) participants who were composed of the Assessment Center (AC’s) Managers, Processing Officers and Accredited Assessors were invited.

​

The orientation focused on the Competency Assessment and had an overview with the Accreditation of Competency Assessment Center (AC) and Accreditation of Competency Assessors with the Competency Assessment and Certification (CAC) Focal, Mr. Ely Arensol.

Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero, TESDA Provincial Director stressed the issues regarding the conduct of competency assessment and the quality service of assessors. He challenged the Assessment Centers to look for the welfare of their respective trainers and assessors to elevate. He also reminded the assessors that they have the responsibility to the school and community. “Just adopt with the proper protocol because we are partners”, said Dr. Jamero.

​

Certificates of Assessment Center (AC) and Assessors’ Accreditation were distributed. Sector representatives of registered programs were also recognized.

​

With the comments and suggestions of the participants, the orientation resulted to fruitful ideas that will definitely improve and develop quality service to the conduct of competency assessment towards every graduate’s future career. 

EMCOR donates Auto Spare Parts to TESDA- Aklan

EMCOR Inc. is a 100% Filipino-owned retail Business Corporation specializing in appliances, furniture, IT products, motorcycles, and money transfer through its network of specialty chain stores in the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan areas.

It is currently under the Jesus V. del Rosario (JVR) Foundation Inc.—one of the many companies of the JVR Group of Companies which originally under the name of Engineering and Machinery Corporation (EMCOR).

December 18, 2015, the said company visited the TESDA- Aklan Provincial Office to donate numbers of Auto spare parts like brake pad, brake shoe, bulb, carbon brush kit, etc.

“These could really help the trainees in Automotive Servicing NC II”, Dr. Julius Sol O. Jamero, TESDA Provincial Director said with gratitude to the said company.

​

Montfort Technical Institute, Inc., the identified TVI in the province of Aklan with registered qualification programs thru Bro. John Britto, Vice president of MTI received the spare parts that will benefit the trainees in Small Engine Servicing NC II.

​​

Through the eagerness of every trainees to acquire and improve their skills, patience and  hardwork of trainers with the help of charitable companies with big- heart, TESDAMen will definitely succeed in their chosen career.

According to Dr. Jamero, various activities concerning to health will be facilitated for the adoption of the said Memorandum Circular.

​

The importance of a healthy lifestyle is not just being inculcated in the activity. Sportsmanship and camaraderie among the participants are also being developed

TESDA- AKLAN IN THE CELEBRATION OF THE 2016 NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH

The observance of International Women’s Day (IWD) was a result of the organizing activities of women in the early 20th Century. Between 1909 and 1911, working women in the United States participated in organizing strike activities of the National Women’s Trade Union League and other concerned groups.

​

March 08, 2016. The Provincial government of Aklan celebrated the 2016 National Women’s 

Month with the theme, “Kamaeayran ni Juana, Iiba sa Adyenda” at the Provincial Capitol, Kalibo, Aklan. The theme resonates the call for gender-balance in leadership and decision making positions both in public and private sector; inclusion of women’s concerns in leadership platforms and the government’s development agenda; and capacitating and preparing women and girls to reach their ambitions.

​

TESDA as the leading partner in technical education and skills development joined forces with the trainees from Villorente Training and Assessment Center, Corp. that offered free massage to women participants and free Haircut from Montfort Technical Institute. The said free services served almost a hundred women in the said activity. Other than positive feedback from the participants, development of skills and competency in the respective fields of trainees progress.

Collaboration of TESDA- Aklan and other present agencies with the provincial government gave a positive impact to the community.
